How do I forward my phone line?

Accepted Answer

From your business phone, dial *72 then your Clayta number to send every call across. Dial *71 instead if you only want the calls you don't pick up. *73 turns forwarding off. Most shops start with *71: your own phone rings first, and Clayta picks up only if nobody does. Your own number never changes.

How do I connect Square Appointments?

Open My Business, find Connections, and hit Connect next to Square Appointments. Sign in, and your services, staff and hours come across on their own. You never retype your price list — Clayta quotes what Square says, so fixing a price there fixes it on the phone. It checks Square before offering a time, so a filled slot is already gone.

What if I don't use Square Appointments?

Clayta works fine without it. Connect your Google Calendar and bookings land in it, or connect nothing and they live in your Clayta dashboard. One or the other, never both: whichever you pick is the only book of record, so two calendars can't disagree about whether 2pm is free. Without Square you type your services in during setup.

What do I need before I start?

Your opening hours, and your services with prices and rough durations. You can do all of it from your phone, and stop halfway and come back. On Square Appointments they come across on their own. You don't need a new phone number, a contract or any new hardware.

Question 5

How do I test my line before going live?

Accepted Answer

Your dashboard Overview has a Test call card. Ring your assistant from your own mobile — you hear what a caller hears, and the call turns up under Calls. Do it before you forward your line and again after. Ask something awkward on purpose — a service you don't offer, a time you're closed.
