- Assistant:
Ironwood Tattoo, this is your assistant — how can I help?
- Caller:
Hey, I'm after a half sleeve. How does that work?
It knows what your callers mean
Nobody rings up and asks for the name on your price list. Clayta matches what people actually say to the right service and duration.
The call you can never take
The phone always rings four hours into a back piece, with a machine in your hand. That's the one Clayta is for.
Answers while you work
Books consultation, small flash piece, full day session and the rest of your list, without you putting anything down.
Answers what you get asked
Prices, hours, how long consultation takes — it answers from what you've told it, and takes a message rather than guessing when it hasn't been told.
Answers after you've closed
You're open maybe 50 hours a week. There are 168. A call at nine on a Sunday either becomes a booking or becomes somebody else's.
Your phone right now is a liability
When you're with a client
Rings out, then offers to take a message
Two people ring at once
The second one gets a busy tone or voicemail
After you've closed
Sits until morning — by then they've booked elsewhere
A caller who speaks Spanish
An English greeting they may not finish listening to
Knowing what was said
A name on a notepad, if that

Questions from studios
Most calls want a price for custom work. It can't quote that.
It should not, and it does not try. Custom work gets booked as a consultation, with the caller's description of what they want captured and sent to you — reference, placement, rough size. You quote when you have seen it. What you stop losing is the caller who never got through to book the consultation.
Can it answer aftercare questions?
It answers from aftercare you have written down and nothing else. If you have given it your healing instructions it repeats them accurately. If a caller describes something that sounds like an infection, it does not diagnose — it takes a message and tells you.
We have age rules for piercings. Will it get those right?
It answers your rules as you have stated them, including what ID or guardian consent you require. It will not make an exception, because it has no ability to — it only knows what you have told it.
